What is hardware components?
Different types of hardware components.
Hardware components
Computer hardware refers to the bodily parts of a computer and associated devices. Interior hardware devices contain motherboards, hard drives, and RAM. Exterior hardware devices contain monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, and scanners.
The interior hardware portions of a computer are often referred to as components, while exterior hardware devices are regularly called peripherals.

Processor
The CPU Sometimes referred to the processor; processor is responsible for functions such as calculations. CPU is the most important part of computer and it also called the brain of computer. Without the CPU the user wouldn’t be able to play type research papers, or surf the Internet.
Motherboard
The motherboard is the main circuit board of a computer. The motherboard contains the connectors for plugging the components in.
Bios
BIOS guide the computer on how to achieve a number of simple functions such as booting and keyboard control. It is also used to recognize and organize the hardware in a computer such as the hard drive, floppy drive, optical drive, CPU, memory and etc.
Heatsink
A computer component specifically designed to lower the temperature of an electronic device by dissipating heat into the surrounding air. All modern CPUs require a heat sink. There are two types of heat sinks. A heat sink without a fan is referred to as a passive heat sink; a heat sink with a fan is referred to as an active heat sink. Heat sinks are generally made of a zinc alloy and often have fins.
Fan
Computer fans are found inside the computer case and help prevent the various computer parts inside from overheating. Without them, components of your computer can malfunction, become damaged, or even crash.
CPU fan is attached together with a heat sink on the mother board; CPU fan is used to prevent overheating of the processor on the mother board.

IDE
IDE is one of the most common interface for disk drives such as hard drives and CD-ROM drives. Although it’s simple to use, it’s also the most limited interface. IDE is integrated into the computer systems motherboard. It only allows for 4 devices. The other option is SCSI which is faster, more complicated, and allows for many more devices to be attached.
SATA
SATA stands for Serial Advanced Technology Attachment, a device in the computer motherboard. SATA, which uses a serial connection, replaces the older and slower parallel ATA (Advanced Technology Attachment) also known as PATA (Parallel Advanced technology Attachment). SATA utilizes thinner cables; it cools more effectively while running more reliably than ATA.
Parallel Port
A parallel port is a computer interface from a computer system where data is transferred in or out in parallel. This means that parallel ports consist of more than one wire.
Serial Port
A serial port is a computer interface where information is transferred in or out one bit at a time. The serial port was used to connect devices such as mice and keyboards terminals and modems to a computer.
Internal Memory Rom
Internal memory Rom is computer memory on which data has been pre-recorded. Once data has been written onto a ROM chip, it cannot be removed or altered and can only be read.
Internal Memory Cache
Internal memory Cache is a specialised type of RAM located on the hard disc of a computer where web pages and page elements such as graphics are stored when a page is downloaded from the Internet. If a page is revisited and the pages, or elements of the page, are still held in cache then the computer will use the cache version to load the page in order to make the download faster. Cache also allows previously visited pages to be viewed offline.
Internal Memory RAM
Ram: As the name suggests this is a type of computer memory that can be accessed randomly; that is, any byte of memory can be accessed without touching the preceding bytes. RAM is the most common type of memory found in computers and other devices
Hard drive
The hard disk drive is a mass storage component attached to a computers motherboard. Typically the hard disk drive holds the operating system which assists in loading programs and drivers to different components of the computer.
Network card
A network card is a network adapter is a piece of computer hardware that allows multiple computers to communicate over a network
Graphics card
A video graphics card, also known as a graphics accelerator card or display adapter is a component in computer hardware whose function is to generate and display images
Power supply
A power supply unit is a device that supplies electrical power to a device or group of devices within a computer system and electronic devices. The term is most commonly applied to units that are integrated with the devices they supply, such as computers and household electronics, and not to devices supplying, conditioning or supporting an electric utility grid.
